@Ryan-Feng I believe this can be done with a change in the theme templates for your site. We do send over the group label, and that should contain the colour hex value, which you can use as a style attribute for the username itself.

Are there a plugin for these, or stock with NodeBB?

How does one make it so that a moderator must approve a topic in order for the topic to become publicly view able?

How can I set it up so that all new members posts must be approved before they are displayed? I figure that this will deter the spammers.

@yosukey I needed to change some core files to enable Z-A sorting. It is coming in the next nbb version. 🙂

I'm not seeing this feature in the dev. I'd like to allow anonymous posting for registered users. They have to register to post which would enable banning users and they can post while hiding their username from everyone else except admin/moderators. Replies will be by post number or 'OP' for the first post/thread starter. Throughout the site instead of avatars showing it will be an icon linked to a category, set by admin. And within that category it could be an arbitrary place holder like a bullet.

Intent would be for Leaks sites, Classifieds sites, etc.

Would be possible to show the "Topics Tools" menu when I watch the list of topics under a certain tag? That would be useful if I need to create a new category for a bunch of topics with the same tag.

Furthermore, it would be interesting for me to be able to add the same tag to all topics in a certain category, what is add a new option in the "Topics Tools" with something like "Add tag to all".

Hi i have problem. I install but in admin i have error:

and on home page i dont have any category

What you're looking for is implemented in the widget "forum stats", in which you can view the number of posts and number of topics on any page. I'm not a plugin developer (read: javascript noob 8)), but I think it's respectively easy to get this done in a similar fashion.

I'd recommend looking up the way the module "nodebb-widget-essentials" deals with this. I assume it's easy to API'ify this.

Hmm, so I just found an interesting behavior that might be the cause.

It appears that NodeBB uses the websocket by default, but when the connection fails, it falls back to polling!

It does not appear to reconnect to the websocket after the failure. There's an easy way to see this - open up Chrome's dev tools on a NodeBB site, then kill your network connection.
It starts sending polling requests, and continues even after the connection is re-established!

Perhaps this is the reason that it gets "stuck" and has weird connectivity bugs?

This would be useful to prevent new users from abusing signatures. It would also allow forums to incentivize members to work towards being able to have a signature.

Also, plugin seemed to work fine. Haven't ran into any errors yet but might customize later on to allow another specific usergroup to view not just admins.

Instead of app.uid you need to use app.user.uid

@yariplus Ahh, I'm sorry I was reading some stuff wrong. I got confused. This should be very helpful then.

@11assets colors would require a plugin, but you can have headings, etc with Markdown.

I feel like the chats can get a little crowded or awkward when they have more than just two people in them. It would be nice if chats with more than two people showed the name of the chatroom instead of the names of all participants.
