Hello Was wondering about how to support open-graph og meta tags, while posting url's In facebook, whatsapp etc, when a url is pasted in composer, it automatically pulls/displays title, image etc. How can I do that in nodebb ? Thanks in advance !

@ChaosYamYT This plugin is incompatible with current versions of NodeBB. You could try opening an issue at the Github repo for the plugin, and asking the developer to fix it.

@Nick-West the users can select a language in their user settings.

Solve this with: # chmod o-rwx /var/lib/redis # chmod o-rwx /var/lib/mongo If you are the only user with access to the server it's not a big problem. However, it's better to make it inaccessible by other users just in case a cracker get access with non-root user account.

Greetings Everyone! Its your boi sharlet here again with another problem lol. So I have setup an forum recently but I cannot register there the only way to acess the forum as an user for me is to login as the admin rather than that no way of registering!! I have tried to ask @PitaJ ( Global Moderator ) as he helped me alot with my forums but sadly hadnt recived an reply! It would be great to know why am I experiencing this issue! Thanks! This is likely due to the ad company not working well with Single Page Applications. You should talk to them about it and see what they say about it...

@julian: Yes, it depends. In the case of NodeBB they must have been quite good lines from what I've seen, and with excellent speed and performance. Thanks for your good work.

Can you copy or take a screenshot of the complete output of ls /opt/nodebb? There should be a lot more directories and files than that. Sorry to take time to reply the ./nodebb setup had errors so I wanted to delete the directories but I restarted again its fine for me ill say you if I have any problems through a DM or here!!

@meetdilip: Yes, of course it depends on the different sites. It should be an optional, configurable feature. Since it seems to be not yet implemented in NodeBB, I woud like it to be considered a feature suggestion. About choosing Discourse or NodeBB, Discourse has already very nice features like this self-moderation. However, for some other points that can be important depending on the site, NodeBB gives more options. For example, Discourse has explicitly discarded pagination as a possible option, therefore infinite scroll must be used in all cases. Also adamantly discarded are hierarchical categories, and only one level of subcategories is allowed in all cases. On the other hand, NodeBB seems more open to give options for users' suggestions, such as optional pagination, unlimited subcategory levels, flexible theming, etc. So, this project probably will use NodeBB.

You could either install node.js into your box ( if possible ) and accommodate NodeBB into it. Or, get a new VPS, install NodeBB on it with meeting server requirements. Link it to your choice of sub domain.

Hi @Bri - yes, that's supposed to be .com - whoops! Yes, I've never had an issue with VPSDime. I think I've had downtime twice, for a total of an hour, in something like the last 9 months
