@KINAKIYOKI Can you tell us more about how it is hosted right now? Are you looking to switch providers to someone like DigitalOcean?

I solved my problem, but without using a helper function. here is how I solved it: $(window).on('action:topic.loaded', function (event, data) { var replynum = data.postcount - 1; console.log(replynum) }); I have tested it and it works, every time a topic is loaded I can get the postcount. However, I am still unable to know why my helper function is not being executed

I am trying to add a sorting mechanism to the recent page (forum/recent) exactly like the one the category page (/forum/category/) where the topics can be sorted either from newest to oldest, oldest to newest, most posts. is that possible?

Every now and then when I browse the forum I see that most people are using MongoDB instead of Redis. However, as Redis is faster (at least from what I have heard) I wonder why the majority is going for Mongo? Is there any benefit? I am well aware that Redis needs RAM, however as of now prices for RAM are hilariously low compared to a year or two ago.

Been away from nodeBB for a bit - the last project I was working with it for went another way. Have something new in the works but I'm still trying to find some integrations. I've been asked to see if anyone's had any success with a cart integration. Something where the forums and the cart SSO and are "thematicly" seemles without having to spend a lot of jiggerypoking keeping themes in sync. I expect this is a no, but. For that matter, anyone just have the SSO part down? Thanks!

I moved from Digitalocean to Vultr and I like Vultr a lot more. Better interface and more for the money They even have Windows if you like that I use CoreOS and i think that dont have support for that, but I can be wrong on that point... NodeBB beat the shit out of all PHP-based forums if you ask me!!!

Awesome thanks @julian that has seemed to fix the issue. I thought it may have been a problem with my host and the way they have a script for setting up NodeBB with just one click and entering a few bits of info. Been working with them for the past couple of days on this.

Well, its just a mild suggestion. Most of the cases, users do not upload pictures. However, for a certain forum (e.g., my forum), they post lots of pictures. And it should be more user-friendly to arrange pictures automatically with flanking lines. Or, maybe nodebb could add a switch in the system management panel, then let the administrator to choose automatically arrange pics or not.
