Plugin & Theme contest 2015 ideas

We haven't had a contest this year, something I just realized when I ressurected our blog earlier today.

Can we get a show of hands of who'd be interested in participating?

If anybody is interested in sponsoring prizes please send me a PM, and we can figure out cross-promotion strategies as we've done with sponsors in the past.

Feel free to suggest ideas, themes, etc for the competition

The year is very close to ending. When would you set the submission date?

And I'd love to join this one. Been getting more involved with NodeBB plugins and I'd like to try my hand at a plugin + widget combination. Haven't touched widgets yet.

I think starting at the beginning of November and ending at the end of December would be a good time span for this kind of thing.

I think we should make a dedicated theme contest to encourage more themes, we have tons of plugins already!

Admittedly, the lack of themes is what stops me from switching to NodeBB.
I sadly don't have $750+ to get a theme developed.

That's the price if you want the core nbb devs to build it. You should post on this community to see if somebody can build your theme within your budget
