Thanks for the reply, @julian! Yes, I've tried using "ns-" plugin as well, but I had even less luck with it: it even doesn't show in the "Plugins" dropdown menu (cannot access plugin settings page). you can open an issue on their issue tracker. Are you talking about the Github issues section? Or there is another place where I can post it? P.S. The issue with the ns-embed on Github: https://github.com/NicolasSiver/nodebb-plugin-ns-embed/issues/29

I'm trying to get this exact type of embed to work. I'm using the default Markdown settings and I have the imgur plugin installed and activated. I have tried pasting the URL with and without the .gifv extension. What am I missing?

FYI, this older version is generation the following message in the NodeBB log: 14/4 08:03:46 [30678] - warn: [plugins/load] The following plugins may not be compatible with your version of NodeBB. This may cause unintended behaviour or crashing. In the event of an unresponsive NodeBB caused by this plugin, run ./nodebb reset -p PLUGINNAME to disable it. nodebb-plugin-blog-comments

@baris said: ![link text](link-to-image) We should add that to the composer toolbar [image: N4GSgOO.jpg?1] I know they can do it, but I'm sure they won't learn the syntax behind it (I tried before and the solution was to copy and paste the image). That's why I wanted a button in the editor where they can put the alt text and the image url.

I copied and pasted their html into a widget. This seems slightly easier though.
