If you really need this functionality, you could start working on it yourself, and then I'm sure the devs would be glad to merge it into their code.

@Nodekko You don't really need to know about programming unless you're making plugins. The template engine uses a form of HTML here. The code that handles the sidebar in posts is here in Lavender.

I don't quite understand what you're asking about changing from vB to NodeBB. That would be your choice, it's possible though.

Hello, I would like to suggest a feature to avoid spam bots that is like the yahoo groups feature, a text box that the new user would ask with his own words for admins when registering, admin gets notified maybe via email as well, and then when the registration is authorized, the user gets notified via email.

Just wondering if anyone else would find if useful to upload directly to a post with a capture tool. I find it better to just give an audience an immediate visual instead of (or as a supplement to) a link since it breaks the flow and many may not actually click the link. Sort of like being able to reply to a post via email direct.

You do have a point there.
However, you could still do it in a Facebook-esque style:

Without refreshing: When a reply is made to an existing topic (or a status, on FB) is made, do nothing (or alternatively, only update the reply count & "X posted Y minutes ago" snippet) When a new topic is made, add it to the top of the list When refreshed: List every topic in order of most recent reply (current behaviour)

@Lafunamor Manage > Users is in the ACP and has a "Ban User" option under Edit. Though it could be possible to add it to profiles based on usergroup in a sense if you have Moderators on your forum.

I'm so used to Vbulletin that we would add a few lines of code to only allow access for certain groups to use lets say in this case:

<li><a href="#" class="ban-user"><i class="fa fa-fw fa-gavel"></i> Ban User</a></li>

This would only be visible to Moderators and Admins and require password entry before banning said spammer.

This is just me rambling but I do know this can be possible with a few edits or a simple plug-in. Maybe add it under the drop-down list under the profile button?
