I can successfully connect and work with a local instance of mongodb. However, when from local dev machine I change the mongodb connection string to point to Mongodb Atlas I get the following error: not authorized on admin to execute command { create: "socket.io", capped: true, size: 5242880 } {"name":"MongoError","ok":0,"errmsg":"not authorized on admin to execute command { create: \"socket.io\", capped: true, size: 5242880 }","code":8000,"codeName":"AtlasError"} The database is hosted on Mongodb Atlas cluster. The user is assigned a role: atlasAdmin @ admin. { "url": "http://localhost:4567", "secret": "somesecret", "database": "mongo", "mongo": { "host": "127.0.0.1", "port": 27017, "username": "", "password": "", "database": "", "uri": "mongodb+srv://<user>:<password>@somecluster.mongodb.net/somedbname" }, "port": "4567" } MongoDb npm package version: 3.2.3 MongoDb version on Atlas: 4.0.8 [image: AGIaP.png]

@byAppeL look in your browser address bar. Are you accessing the site at http://foro.az-rp.com:4567? My guess is that the port (:4567) does not show up in your address bar, and you're accessing the site at one of the default ports. In that case, remove the :4567 from the url value in config.json. I don't know how many times I'll have to say this, but the url value in config.json should be set to exactly the url at which you access your site. The protocol, domain, path, and port should all be identical to what you see in the address bar of your browser.

Hello Is there a list of currently supported themes somewhere? When I am searching I am only finding stuff that has not been updated in many years. Even with the 4 themes that come with NodeBB, it seems like only Persona is updated regularly. I wanted to use Lavender but it has not been updated in long time and the link for the guide does not work. Thanks

Not sure if this reported already, but I noticed if you have a member who is in more than 1 group, only the 1st group you add them to is displayed in their user profile, the 2nd, 3rd, etc groups are not displayed.

@MostHated said in Where can I find information on animated themes / animating theme attributes?: Hey there all, I am just getting my feet wet with this amazing platform but had a quick question. Does anyone know how difficult it would be to add some slight animations upon loading / changing views, or if there are any themes out that already include this? An example of what I am looking for would be best seen here: https://demo.themehouse.com/xf2/themes/ As you click around you will notice some really nice smooth slide in type animations that cascade up/down or in from a side, etc. If anyone could point me in the right direction as to how this might be achieved in NodeBB, I would be most appreciative. Thank you in advance for your time! -MH i didnt see any nodebb theme with lot of animations... i love that theme, an the ability to display and hide subcategories would be nice to have it implemented on nodebb

Hey all, I had never used Mongoose before but I know it is used for schema and validation. I was wondering though if anyone knew off chance if it could be added to NodeBB's database without it interfering with how it currently operates? I came across this backend administrative application called ForstAdmin and I was thinking about trying to see if I could add it into my current install. The application itself is made to integrate into an application you already have up and running, but that is under the assumption you are already have Mongoose and are using Express. I might spin up another board just to give it a go and see what happens, lol. Thanks all, -MH

The active users panel in the ACP dashboard shows number of socket connections it is not the same data as /users?section=online /users?section=online shows users who have performed and action in the past 30minutes(can be configured in the ACP). The unique visitors graph shows the number of unique IPs that have visited your site per hour. It would go up whenever a new IP hits your site even if they don't have read access to any categories.

@Badde-Liyanage-Don-Dilanga said in The future of Nodebb: honestly I was wondering the same. the forum software is excellent. it loads faster, lightweight, uses node not something old as php, but it's so annoying to build the nodebb whenever you change some settings. plugins don't work, rebuilding/restart required to change the theme. Those things aren't idea. But honestly, how often are you changing a theme? That's the kind of thing that we'd assume would be, like every few years perhaps? Live theme changes would be nice, I agree. But very low priority kind of stuff. I'd prefer just about anything get prioritized over that.
