Thank you guys. My connections number is quite stable around 200 this year. But the guest number these days suddenly incresed to roughly 400. Previously Guest number is no more than 200. If there is something wrong, I think it should be Guest's number. BTW, I just updated to v1.18.6. Before I updated, I never saw so high Guest number. But I am not sure if it is because of tue upgrade. My website works well except this. Alright, after I restart the nodebb real quick, Guest number decrease to 150. I dont know why.

I put a URL from the community into the gogole rich results test. Here are the results: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results/result/r%2Fcarousels?id=UsBoTKAKxlNrIinVus2ttg&hl=EN I don't know what effect rich results testing has on SEO. Is this very important? A link test on the Discourse forum: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results/result?id=GQbxVgeRLLYV9_OCm-kxZQ&hl=EN A link test on the Flarum Forum: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results/result?id=_QcYMk2HL7cDmgidZYp93w&hl=EN

Hello, I hope this is the right place to ask, but I’m currently looking for participants for my survey that I’m doing for my master thesis. The research deals with the relationship between agile practices and open source software development. Therefore, I’m looking for active contributors of open source projects. The survey takes only about 3 minutes: https://www.survey3.uni-koeln.de/index.php/283719?lang=en Thank you in advance for taking the time! I appreciate your help

@yu-miao The Opera folk actually have a custom theme based off of Persona (probably), or as @phenomlab says, maybe custom CSS We try to keep Persona lean so that it is a good base to theme off of. We try to strike a balance between aesthetics and themeability.

@mark-coniglio I like Stop Forum Spam. Free is not always good, but in this case it is. Nothing will be a magic bullet. Layered onions, etc. Google is evil so I naturally prefer hCaptcha.

@levi-haviv Hi - it should be in the ACP - try https://your-domain/admin/settings/uploads#profile-covers Or Admin -> Settings -> Uploads -> Profile Covers

@tallship Some of the "temporal" may be mitigated via use of a bouncer, e.g. ZNC. Bouncers remain connected on per account/network and channel basis w/configurable scroll back buffers, e.g. 70 - 300 lines. ZNC is likely the best known ROSS bouncer. Cruises right along on even most minimally provisioned vm offered by this, that, or the other cloud provider of the day.... Feel free to reach out for additional help. Have a groovy day, eh?

The obvious clue bat here is that Flarum is based on PHP glue scripts. So you're always going to suffer that. No matter what. Mitigate? Sure. To various degrees. But yer' still sufferin'. NodeJS makes sense. Especially modern times. Warts? Indubitably. But as do all things. Take the good with the not so good. tl;dr?? NodeBB scales really, really, really well! And is kinda' fun to work with. Cuz the devs are at the least, tolerable, and other times... pretty cool, even. I would suggest you explore db backend options. In particular, MongoDB and PostgreSQL. Investigate scaling the system. Then ponder doing similarly w/Flarum. No contest fer' me. But, as w/all things, your mileage may vary.... Have fun! Edit: P.S.; Asciidoc rules! Markdown drools!

Well, well. Well, well. Well... We're comparing transiting from a blog/cms to forum software here. Not apple to oranges. Hence there will necessarily be extra hoop jumping. But, like any/everything, it can be done. Depends on dedication, money and time. Be all that as it may, you certainly could do worse than @phenomlab for advice. Welcome and have a groovy day, eh?

This query is on behalf of an EdTech startup in India. We are exploring NodeBB for building our MVP. I would like to connect with any freelance developer who is familiar with the codebase of NodeBB so we could engage him/her to guide our developers. We believe that the initial learning can be accelerated if we can onboard a freelancer who is familiar with NodeBB. Any interested freelancer can contact us on WhatsApp at https://wa.me/919849702501 Any referrals would be appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to understand our requirements.

These projects look really solid - they are drop-in replacements for Redis and should offer the most closely matched performance without the need to keep everything in RAM: https://github.com/ideawu/ssdb https://github.com/ledisdb/ledisdb https://github.com/Tencent/Tendis https://github.com/KvrocksLabs/kvrocks Has anyone tried?

@pitaj I actually have that, but I want to be able to customize the button then . Basically I’m making a thank you page for people associated with my site. It shows there name and links for their social medias. I used custom emojis so that when you click on the icon it goes to their page. [image: 1634870666941-22c34977-1cad-4dd5-a49d-9b8d1fa3784b.jpeg] For Discord and Battle.net however, there are no websites or pages per profile, only a username with a user tag. What I was is to be able to click on them as links like the others but it actually stays in the page and just opens a dialogue with the user tag so I don’t have to have the user tag displayed there with them (not as neat nor cool). Again thanks. If I were to make a plugin like this @julian, how would I start with that?

@julian Sorry, mon! I do not game. Spend too much time behind a 'puter as is so prefer recreation that encourages me to get up off my arse! Seems like an interesting topic for some thought food discussion and with all these gamers using NodeBB I am surprised this has not gotten any traction. Otherwise... way, way bitd... early days of lasers, we did some cool cutting edge holographic stuff in physics lab - but if you don't use it you loose it and I've definitely lost it! So I'll happily oblige with a lil' bump...
