All hail our global mods!

We recently added a new system group called Global Moderators, this group has access to the moderator tools but can't access the ACP. They can also ban users. We will let this group see banned users and flagged posts as well.

We have assigned some users as global mods on this forum as well https://community.nodebb.org/groups/global-moderators.

If you think we missed someone or you want to be a global mod ask for it here.

I am curious, for use on my board. Is this something new in 1.0.0, a new plugin, or just a creation of a group and then assigning that group access to moderate each category (ie., manual old skool setup)?

@rod this is a new feature on master which will be available in 1.0.0. The group is created on install or when you upgrade from 0.9.x. It is a special group that has forum wide permissions.

Awesome. Please, please, please let us rename the global mod group though, unlike the administrators group, which is eternally uncapitalized.

Oohhh @baris you just made my night (nerds don't life in the day) I've been waiting for this for so long!
On the other side, I'd love to volunteer for mod though.

Edit: I've gave it a quick try, this is nice but is there a central place for moderators to view the flags, like the administrators do with there own page in the ACP?

I think we'd like our global mods to be trusted by the community (good reputation), visit the forums often, and also have some knowledge about at least the basics of how NodeBB operates (installation, basic plugin hooks, etc)

Much like the users who are already in that list
