Do we care about number of views?

It's currently hidden on mobile and tablet.
I think de-cluttering is good in general. Get rid of everything unnecessary I say. But the question is, is the post view count necessary? Maybe not, but I kind of like seeing how many views a post has. If anything I'd say make the count a little less manipulable (currently hitting F5 increments it)

@psychobunny Every use case is different from what I've seen as @Nicolas said, it just depends. I can think of a few ways views could be utilized, and thats via filtering by views. The determining factor of how content is sorted in Popular for example is by the number of posts. But what about views? I feel that its a neglected piece of data that should at least be utilized in some way.

I don't necessarily care if this is not on the feed, but I wouldn't want it hidden away somewhere. I'd want it somewhere where people can find it relatively easy. I do pay attention to it, but it itself doesn't stop me from looking at a thread. Sometimes it does determine my read order though.

Views shouldn't be used for measuring popularity, whatsoever. At least as it is now. You can keep spamming the refresh button or even write a tiny script to request a topic. There is really no checks in place. It is too easily manipulated.
If that was changed to #views/#users, then it might become a good tool for measuring e.g. how many users have been reached with an announcement topic.

Perhaps retention rate would be more appropriate: the mean or median % of the topic read.
