It got accepted! Whooooooo!

If I read a forum software comparison article on Wikipedia and it didn't mention NodeBB, then that article would be pretty poor! Whoever is deleting it is a vandal.

Nice! And thanks
That feature list was probably tailored to forums from the 90s... Calendar? And stuff like images in posts and unread tracking should be standard.
We're the only forum on that page that doesn't have its own dedicated page though, I'm assuming that's why it was deleted twice

Thats the most important page to be on, I think. Its the one that I checked at first (although, ultimately, I ended up finding NodeBB through a discussion on Discourse, ironically enough).
As for an article, in the past when I was very active on wiki, it was longevity more then anything that led to article creation. Wikipedia is fickle as HELL about what's "notable", but if nodebb stays active and alive for a very long period of time, they eventually let it in.

Heeyyyyy, I plan on using @pitaj 's calendar when I get my forum converted.

Does someone still have the old copy of the wikipedia:NodeBB article? Because when you click on the link you get the message that this article has existed before and got deleted due to:
No explanation of significance (real person/animal/organization/web content/organized event)
I'd like to take a look at it, rewrite it a bit and then post it with the message that NodeBB is in the forum list now too.
-
@BDHarrington7 You mean that one that is buggy, outdated, and unfinished? I'd better get to work on it then.
-
That's the one!
-
@rbeer NodeBB can run in a cluster, so yes.
-
Glad you got nodeBB included in the list - congrats!
As someone that recently went through that list in search of a modern forum, I suggest submitting either changes or additions to the rather stale list of features. APIs, messaging/chats, admin control through the browser are features I think are more important today than aforementioned calendar.
The wiki article reflects the stale nature of traditional forums. Best way to combat it (and spread the good word of nodeBB) is to propose changes to the article.

Well, looks like we got deleted again: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Comparison_of_Internet_forum_software&action=history
I guess it's because NodeBB isn't forum software - it's much more awesome than that.

@psychobunny, yeah. Just undo his deletions all the time. It is >4 against 1 He is a phpBB fan, I looked at his contributions. I hate Wikipedia for the possibility that people can delete something just because they don't like it

What makes me really angry is this:
This article needs additional citations for verification. Please help improve this article by adding citations to reliable sources. Unsourced material may be challenged and removed. (June 2011)
I added citations to everything for NodeBB!
NONE of the other forum entries have this! Not one of them! -.-
He is such a di**
And he is German too -.- I hate my country. Most toxic players. Most toxic cheaters in game. Most toxic Wikipedia contributors ^^

@ApfelUser Isn't there a possibility that we can bring this to the light of a Wikipedia administrator? I'll have a look around, see how we can report him.
