Restrict guest access to forum

Hi,

I would like to restrict guests so they cannot sign up to the forum without having a valid membership.

I have removed all the ticks from the guest privileges but I just tested it myself and I can still sign up and view everything as a guest.

How do I avoid this from happening please?

I guess the issue is that, I would like to stops guests from being able to sign up and access the forum content.

How would that be possible please?

Or maybe set the forum up so no-one can get access without admin approval.

You can disable registration and remove privileges from guests in the ACP

@PitaJ Thanks. Removing privileges didn't seem to do much as I tried signing up as guest and could still access everything.

If I change registration to "admin approval" does that mean that no one can sign up and access the forum content before they have been approved?

@Rasmus Can you send us a screenshot of the privilege table for a category of your choosing? Removing the viewing privileges from guests will cause the category to no longer show up on the index (nor will it be accessible).

I think this might be the crux of your problem. You can't sign up as a guest, you're a guest when you don't log in.
