3 Plug-ins you can't live without

Haha well I appreciate the compliment It might be mid 80s but they're still selling game cards in 7/11s and Best Buy's. I think for us in general we never really had a good designer to take us to the next level so it may have been cool but it was always just limited to just a forum RPG, gain XP from posting a lot or battling your friends and that's it.

For vBulletin there is Forumon RPG http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/product/76-forumon-rpg/
I never paid for it on my vB sites because the audience on those car sites just won't spend time in an RPG style environment. Supernerdz on the other hand.. is NodeBB so they must be crushed!

Wow! Okay, is this new? Have a link to a working version of this? Am interested to see. Seems closed source you would think it's a detriment in general because you'd never get the kind of backing from plugin authors as you would from open source stuff.
Back in the days phpBB dominated when it came to forum RPGs. There were a few RPG mods for vB and IPB but none compared to the stuff phpBB was churning out, ex. Moogie's RPG MOD, Zarath's Shop MOD and Nuladion's customizable avatar MODs - if you saw an XP bar underneath an avatar in a forum you know which forum it was powered by.
I seriously doubt any of the modern players in the forum space gives a crap about this but I guess I do, so hopefully I can release a plugin that's a modern equivalent of all of the above some day

No idea, I played it once I think on their own site's demo but that was it. They churn out a lot of plugin's for vB and have a few debs working it. I've got a couple of their plug-ins for the car sites.
I think the trick today is mobile accessibility so people can rock a few turns on the cell between classes, chat about things they like, etc. Forum integration still can be viable but finding a way to make $ from it will be hard unless setting up a way to buy gold and turns like all the other browser based games do now.

Shoutbox, username mentions, maybe Poll soon?

For me, it's the GitHub embeds plugin that I recently released (much better looking than pasting github urls everywhere) -- very handy for projects hosted on github.
I'm also very impressed by @psychobunny's RPG plugin, and I like me my emoji

A user submitted image gallery where you can comment and rate pictures. <sigh> hopefully someday.
