@julian darn I ran the setup again but I still seem to need ":4567". Still getting welcome to nginx page....i feel so dumb

.4.2 site now up to play with. Gotta jet with grandpa to the eye doc he might need a ride home but I'll try to horse around later and break some stuff. Love the backend work done to admin panel. laid out real well keeping the same "style" for us 1st gen users, it's been a while. Need to wait on DNS prop anyways so I'll break it later today/tonight and work on a logo and some artwork for it.

Haha I guess I'm (was?) old fashioned too. As you know @HolyPhoenix I've spent a ton of time with phpBB. I was totally going to go forward with BBCode for NodeBB when we first wrote it until @julian stepped in. Fortunately I'm lazy so he wrote the first MD plugin against my original wishes :p. Worked out in the end though, I'm glad we went this way. As for a BBCode based composer? Totally possible as of recent developments (v0.4.2+), one could potentially write a plugin to modify the composer and such. If anybody wants to write that let me know, I also wrote a BBCode to Markdown plugin which could be useful as well.

But just to make an example of a good business model for devs: From a marketing experts point of view: Make a plugin/theme everyone likes (Advertising) Make the plugin/theme free (Advertising) Tell them you can make plugins/themes for money (Advertising) Take jobs, make money (Income) As for a marketplace: make everything what is in the marketplace free pictures and descriptions of every plugin/theme Links to devs/contacts where you can order a personalized theme/plugin

Weird. At least when I was on I wasn't getting any error messages (and it was working just fine). Your site is 502 again I guess it's down. Maybe send me a chat next time we're both online and we can try and figure out what's going on.

In general plugins should be compatible within a minor version (ex. 0.4 to 0.5), at least from now on We are doing deprecation notices so you will know in advanced what plugins will break when you upgrade.

@Kamal-Patel Should be able to use this, then just add your category on the homepage, along with whatever else you need.

@HolyPhoenix Hold on, did you have a bacon signature yesterday? I made bacon in the oven last night and damn it was crispy! Also, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

What's wrong with a beta forum being pubically used? It's only beta...

Oh probably 301 is better, since it teaches Google to use the new one instead, but remember what happened last time we tried a 301? NodeBB.org ended up not ranking for months
