One of the first important things to do after setting up NodeBB is to set up an emailer plugin. While NodeBB does include a local emailer, if your forum is particularly active we recommend using an third-party emailer such as SendGrid which provides better deliverability for sites that send a high volume of email. Setting up SendGrid in NodeBB is very easy. Open the administrative dashboard using the 'gear' icon on your forum. Open the Extend > Plugins menu, and select the Find Plugins tab. Use the search on the right. Type 'SendGrid' and the plugin should appear -- select Install when you see it. From Installed tab on the Plugins menu, search again for 'SendGrid' and select Activate. Activating the plugin will require a restart of your forum. To restart, select the Dashboard menu and press the Restart button to the right. After NodeBB restarts, the SendGrid plugin will be active. After you restart, there should be a item called Emailer (SendGrid) under the Plugins menu -- if you don't see this right away, try refreshing your browser. Sign up to SendGrid Go to the SendGrid website, open the pricing page and scroll to the bottom. Click on the link and create your free account. Once you've confirmed your SendGrid account via email, you should be able to login to the SendGrid website. On the left side of your SendGrid dashboard, open Settings and click on API Keys. Click the button in the top right to create a new key. Make sure that the key has Full Access for Send Mail and Alerts.  When you are done, the new key to your clipboard. Now, return to the SendGrid menu on your NodeBB admin panel. Paste the API key into the field, and save your changes. Now go back to the Dashboard to restart your forum one more time. SendGrid should now be working for your forum. [image: youtubelogo.png] Setting up SendGrid mailer for NodeBB

I think you answered my point, by agreeing there are issues. I didn't even attempt to deploy nodebb, I had problems with much smaller projects! Nextjs routing was going through a change of design at the time, so perhaps that is less confusing now, but there were multiple other headaches. I would get build errors and issues with package management.

@nodemode If you click to select a topic (from the category page itself), you can then shift-click lower down the page to select every topic in between

There is a chrome extension "DarkReader" it converts any website to dark theme. Persona looks great when this extension is turned on.

There's a new setting for categories to be displayed as "sections" instead of true categories in the ACP. It's a per-setting category.

@PitaJ It should be related to cache. My boss showed me the website and on her browser and it used the most recent upload. I tried Firefox instead of Chrome and it showed up on my Firefox as well. So it must have been because of the cache, I'll see what I can do to make it appear on Chrome, but everything should be fine. Thanks so much everyone. EDIT: Yeah, just cleared the cache via Tools > More Tools > Clear browsing data; everything's good. I feel so dumb, thanks again everyone.

I've got the same problem a while ago. Deactivating the broken plug-ins isn't enough: you have to uninstall (npm un <package-name>) the right one from your installation. They usually show up in the logs from template building (node nodebb build) as errors or warns and in the dev console (node nodebb dev) as errors. Good luck!

That's exactly it... they're system groups because they're relied upon internally and cannot be deleted or renamed. The admin interface uses groups in the backend. Global mods are empty by default but any members in that group are automatically mods in every category. That's all.

Hello there! NodeBB is designed to work best under a virtual private server. Using a traditional hosting service is not recommended as they do not have the capabilities to power NodeBB effectively. The code and instructions can be found here at our project repository Full instructions can be found in our Documentation Portal We recommend DigitalOcean to host your NodeBB, you'll get a month free just by registering with this link. You can also try applying the 10TOSHIP coupon to get another two months free, and as an added bonus, you'll be helping us out too! Thank you for your interest in NodeBB!

Thank you @PitaJ and @julian for your support! Everything works fine now. The error was because of a wrong security option in the settings and the speed of sendmail increased by itself. Probably there was a problem on the shared server during my first test. Keep up the great work! NodeBB is really great!

I upgraded from v1.5.3 to v1.6.1 and the nginx related problem I was having in v1.6.0 is no longer there. Therefore the problem has been resolved but I don't know why.
