Hi! @PitaJ thank you for the quick reply.
I understand that an absolute URL have the protocol, but most of the normal users, at least in our forums, don't know what that is, some use it just because the copied from the browser, but sometimes a user doesn't add it, and having that links as relative URL returns a 404, causing a bad experience.
Some CMS have a sanity check like Django and WordPress if you add a link inside a WordPress, they check if it's another domain and adds the protocol, so the user doesn't have to add it.
I think it's a good measure to prevent bad user experience.
Could someone link to me to a dark theme or skin that works as flawlessly as persona?
I'm looking for a dark theme, theme with dark skin, something to make more forum have a dark layout without breaking things (for example chat notifications look horrid on persona's selection of dark skin). Any help would be appreciated. I've had a great experience with NodeBB outside of skins/themes however I'm optimistic that it'll get better.
@nsuchy give these themes a try. They have dark skin option.
Could you tell me how to activate these skins?
EDIT: Nevermind, found it.
Appearance -> Skins
Okay, it doesn't look like selecting any of the skins does anything.
I'm trying to use nodebb-theme-slick. Can you please explain how to set this up for the dark skin option?
Once you select the theme, you need to hit "Restart" on the ACP dashboard so the appropriate assets are built.
I already have the theme applied. In order for the skin to work, though, it looks like you need to select the skin for the theme under:
Plugins -> Slick Theme
Strange that there is multiple places for skin selecting...
The "skins" page in the ACP is for choosing a skin for NodeBB's default themes.
Suffice to say, I don't know if we're intent on keeping it, since not all skins work that well on third-party themes (or even Persona)
We use a dark theme.
please check our website and click on the lightbulb.
If you like it and want it I'll share the CSS code
There is a chrome extension "DarkReader" it converts any website to dark theme. Persona looks great when this extension is turned on.
