Thanks for the info, I will have to checkout readthedocs.org when I have some free time. I am glad that the docs are getting translated, that is great for the future of NodeBB.

I am only able to reproduce this if the "non-fluid" container is active. Fluid (100% width) view does not do this at 67% zoom. Edit: Ah nevermind, it does happen in both views, just on smaller browser viewports. Edit: Only seems to happen in Lavender.

When "community.nodebb.org" was updating, nginx servered a "502 Bad Gateway" text error page instead of a custom page displaying something like: "We will be back soon". I recommend that NodeBB creates a static page that is directly servered by nginx when NodeBB is down. This page should use the exact same theme as you currently have selected for your site. I think the link to nginx should be automated as much as possible (maybe ask [yes]/no permission in setup). But if it can't be there needs to be an easy tutorial on how to link nginx to this static page. The static page should be able to be overridden. It should be updated every time the theme changes. Thoughts?

To be honest? Only because I'd heard of require.js before, and it was my go-to choice. I hadn't heard of browserify until Require.js was already baked into the core code. It might be tough to switch over to the other, I honestly have no idea. We have a lot of standalone plugins written to define as Require.js modules...

I would recommend having NGinx in front of NodeBB too. Even if you don't use SSL.

I suppose it would be very much like downtime you'd see if you were upgrading any large CMS. Have you tried using nginx to automatically send users to a pre-determined, statically-hosted error page if the connection to NodeBB 502s?

We don't use any libraries that emulate classical inheritance. For namespacing we utilize: For front end, we use require.js The node.js backend uses (CommonJS module). If you're writing a plugin, feel free to use whatever method you are comfortable with

Hey @RefinedSoftware, @caske33, There's an ongoing issue right now with plugins not being "ajaxified" in the admin panel. "Ajaxifying" is our pet name for our shorthand method that loads pages in NodeBB (since it is a one-page application, it doesn't truly do a page reload when you click links). Give it a try, if you'd like: Open up your console (hit F12), and navigate to the console tab, if it is not open already Type in ajaxify.go('users/online') ; Also, it looks like I found a bug with the Skype Emoji -- darnit.

the software is open source so whatever exposure we can get is more than appreciated given the work we've put into this. that said, legally nothing is stopping you from removing the copyright footer. we're just happy enough that you're using the software:)
