Ah, that might work. I never noticed them as being potentially used this way.
So, if a comment gets the most upvotes, does it show in the order of upvoted comments first?

Is how this works documented somewhere? Do upvoted posts keep moving to the top or is there a way to see which posts have the most upvotes?
I searched for upvote downvote 2022 and found nothing buy my own question.

You can sort the posts of a topic by votes.

Yes, the user can sort but is there a way to have most upvoted posts be at the top by default when a post is made specifically to get votes?

I think you are looking for a plugin similar to
https://github.com/discourse/discourse-post-voting
But for nodebb

Basically, an upvote kind of thing could work but it might not be obvious to users.
I need something that will be obvious to users, that they are upvoting a certain comment.
Much better if the first post is the vote and they can comment all they want below that but vote on the first post.
