I've noticed that this site, plus my own, freezes when accessing using Android based devices. Quite why, I do not know, but was wondering if anyone else had witnessed this with their own forums, or perhaps here ?

In most cases on my own site, the forum locks completely, and then the browser crashes. Iphone seems fine with no issues at all.

    Anyone else experienced this ?

Does it happen when you open any page? Chrome browser I assume?

@PitaJ not every page, but more often from the same user. Here's an example

Happens in chrome, edge, brave, dolphin....

Interesting. I think I'm seeing the same freeze you're describing. I see it in Chrome, but not Firefox.

I believe it's related to the service worker PWA stuff.

@PitaJ Thanks. I see errors in the console for the service worker also. Will try Firefox and see if I can reproduce this there.

EDIT: Works with no issue in Firefox, so I think you're on the right track. I'll raise a GH ticket to report this.

FWIW seems to work fine in Vivaldi 😛 (and Chrome on my device).

I'll add that feature flag as discussed in the issue, and we'll see if that functions as an acceptable workaround.

@julian Thanks. Odd that it works for you 🙂 Guess I'm just unlucky. My main issue is the sheer populace of Chrome as a browser, and Android devices forming a couple. Nobody has complained yet to me directly, so I could be having this issue all on my own, but I think it's best to be safe given @PitaJ can replicate (on my site at least)

Mayhaps the main issue is the Android platform itself? The security advisories coming down the pipe from US-CERT since escalation of Russian and Chinese sponsored cyber warfare/terrorism have numbered in the hundreds. The goog seems to be struggling on this front whilst Apple (not a fan) seems to have cleaned up most of theirs.
