Gas Prices

    What are the costs of gas where you live?

    Currently where I am it is $3.36 USD, 3.66 CAD(I think that means Canadian Dollar), and 2.41 EUR per gallon. 1 Gallon = 3.785411784 litres.

  • Just about to hit $4 a gallon for Regular here in NY. Cash price only.

  • $4.12 on the island where I live....
    I get gas on the mainland, but still only about 35-45 cents cheaper, so gas is still crazy high right now.

    I don't have a car and Canadians do gas in liters, soooo I'm totally clueless both ways.

    @Steve
    I am surprised actually. I would have thought you would have been over $4 like California.

    @psychobunny
    I believe that I pay about $1.04 (CAD) for a 1 Liter of gas if that helps at all.

    Where I live there is no way that you can actually live without a car(which kind of sucks). Public Transportation barely even exists, and to find a bus to get where you want is highly unlikely without super careful planning. We have no subways. Denver is a bit better, but not by much. They do have that one railway train-ish thing that you could use to get to some places.

    ~1.73 EUR per liter.

    I'm one of those bitches that mostly drives in his dads lease car with free gas though.

    Depends on the area too. I'm in western nassau county (aka close to NYC) but if you go deep on long island the prices jump up a bit. I saw 3.99 in a few places and a 4.09 just before going out on a diaper run for the kid.

  • Admin

    @HolyPhoenix $1.04/L? That's quite cheap. Around here, it hit a high of $1.40/L over the weekend, which is $3.93 CAD/gal, or $3.60 USD/gal

    Well I used to live (and born in) Malaysia, gas is stupidly cheap in Asia we are talking like 15 cents US per liter lmao

    You should try the uk for fuel prices, we get bent right over the proverbial barrel of oil, we pay on average £1.30 for a litre, but it can be more, so average $2.20 USD or $2.40 CAD.

    There's 3.79 litres in a us gallon, which, when I carry the 1 and multiply by Pi, brings me to the equivalent $8.34 USD or $9.10 CAD per gallon of jungle juice. Anybody want to sponsor a relocation? :laughing:

  • @a_5mith Mate it's even worse here in Ireland

    @Carl top the de' mornin' to ye'. :thumbsup:

    Most of the fuel price here is tax to save Jonny Polar Bear, but still.

  • Last time I was in home in Toronto, it was $1.30 per litre. Canadian gas is always about 30% more expensive than down south of the boarder which is ridiculous given all the gas in Alberta. But we have our crazy regular tax and green taxes to thank for that and it won't be changing anytime soon.

    @a_5mith UK? That shouldn't even enter the conversation. I don't know how people do it out there. That's why they re-adapted those new cars to always stop the engine at the traffic light in order to save some gas. Well, UK is expensive for everything really.

    Yup, and when the Keystone pipeline is finished, even more Alberta crude will go straight to the US. Hooray! /s

    The money you save when your car stops at a red light, you can use to pay the toll to enter London's downtown :D

    Oh, were taking Canada's oil with that? Interesting I did not know that.

    I spent about 600pounds sterling on parking and speeding tickets from the shitty sentinel type cameras they have around every shitty street corner. They even have 20mile/hour zones in a whole borough around Islington. Immoral shit! I think Edmonton is the only place in Canada to have those speed cameras. Ontario outlawed them.

    So yeah, the crappy money that you think you're saving at the traffic light is taken back from you by ten folds!

  • $2.15 - $2.24NZD / Litre in New Zealand. So $8NZD ish / Gallon.
