Hi!
The French translation of NodeBB is already quite good but some areas are a bit confusing. To give an example: “Watching” topics and “Following” users are both described as « Abonnements ».
I also wonder if “Topic” should not be translated by « Discussion » instead of « Sujet ». E.g. « Répondre en commençant une nouvelle discussion » feels easier to get than « Répondre à l'aide d'un sujet ».
As a Mastodon user, I also feel it would be nice to get the translation to use non-gendered terms as much as possible and middle dots inflexions when not.
These kind of changes would affect many strings in the translation. How could we coordinate such an effort? Is there anyone to convince that we should make these changes?

If you would like to contribute, you can make changes there.
I strongly doubt you will encounter editing fights, but if you do let us know and we'll figure out some way to arbitrate it.
How about this: give a couple days for other French-speakers to voice their opinions here, otherwise go ahead and make changes.
