Installation problem on Ubuntu (Need Help)
-
Hi everyone,
I've been trying to install NodeBB for two days now. I acquired my domain name and an Ubuntu VPS, but nothing works, I can't install it. I followed some tutoriel but i'm not an expert.
I had a problem especially when installing Node JS where I was told that the version was not compatible.
The technology used here is modern and perfectly matches the type of company I work for.
I need this forum for work and I admit I don't have much time to take care of all that. Could a charitable soul help me pre-configure NodeBB via Ubuntu? I need something simple.I thank you in advance for your help. I am available on Discord (ymacmusic) if needed, otherwise contact me here.
Have a good day

@Hope33 it sounds like perhaps you are not comfortable with the shell? NodeBB is not exactly plug and Play, although we try to make it as simple to install as possible.
If this is for work, then I a hosted NodeBB may be easiest course of action for you.
If you are looking to install it yourself, can you let us know what tutorial you used?

Ubuntu is known to have an ancient version of NodeJS, their latest LTS version of ubuntu. they are still shipping nodejs 11 or someshit.
What does the version says in your VPS?
node -v
