Group badges not showing

@phenomlab you can select multiple by holding Ctrl/Cmd while clicking. It's just the built-in browser multiselect element.

However, what IS odd is below

See how the first "group" is displayed with an <a href></a> but the one that should immediately follow it is empty ?

On checking after multiple group badge select using CTRL, saving, then reloading the form, only one is being displayed

Also what is the value of groupTitle for the user having this problem?

Not sure where this is being set (database ?) but this is what I see for the ADMINISTRATORS group for example

It'll display any one of them, but only one, and not more

The value is in the database key for that user, if the uid is 1 then it would be
db.objects.findOne({_key: "user:1"}).groupTitle if you are using mongodb

Group "Founder" is correct (it's one of the groups I am in), but I am also in the ADMINISTRATORS group, and if I select both groups, only one of them shows.

@pitaj No, sadly. Seems to show one group only. Also tried with a non-admin user, and get the same issue.

So you select multiple groups, save your profile, then reload, and it only has one group selected?

Nope, but from what you posted it seems there is an issue with saving the users selection into the database. When you select 2 groups and hit save it should show ["group1", "group2"] in the `groupTitle field.

Works fine on this forum as you can see from my group badges.

You would have to add some logging to see why admin selection is not saved maybe add some logging here to check the values https://github.com/NodeBB/NodeBB/blob/master/src/user/profile.js#L223

Can you try disabling various plugins?

@phenomlab it does seem to be the same issue. They mention they're running a lot of plugins which is what made me think of recommending disabling them.

Add a console.log to where I posted here https://github.com/NodeBB/NodeBB/blob/master/src/user/profile.js#L223. See what gets saved into groupTitle field when you hit save on the edit profile page. Also log the value of meta.config.allowMultipleBadges

@baris I added console.log as instructed to profile.js in path

but nothing is output - even after a rebuild, or a restart

I do however see this in the logs - not just in the profile view either
