Looks like its markdown turning text into h elements after a #

It's changing

Not sure if it's the right place to talk about that, but how about the 12 boxes on the home page? Is that something permanent on NodeBB? Can you have more / less?
Sorry, I don't have an install yet. I just want to understand it a bit more...They are for the categories/forums.. Right in ACP you can change them, colorize them, add images, and add or remove them.

@OutlawedOffroad it just seems weird to have a fixed number, no?

There is no fixed number.. You can also edit the files to change the layout, size, etc
-
just in case you were curious

@maniacmusic has some pretty good ideas there. I too am currently brainstorming some ways to minimize on space while making it easier to use and not too confusing.

@psychobunny Cheers! It's just weird that most examples I've seen use the same number of boxes, then... I'm new to community management but I imagine, as your community grows, you might need more categories...

I have 20 categories atm!! I don't think we will need anymore (I hope)

I actually want LESS. I run enough forums already where there are 30-40 categories/subforums/etc. and it's a chore to maintain and organize.
That's why Tapatalk came to be, regular forums sucked on mobile, and needed an app to manage the clusterfuck.. NodeBB you can effectively surpass that entire concept, brand it all your own, and serve a mobile experience out of the box that dominates the apps available. Just my opinion, but we all have ouor own directions to take NodeBB.

haha yeah I hate tapatalk. I mean the software is great but its just a patch to fix something that should have been done right in the first place

vB has more and more mobile solutions, fb integration (why i dunno) and a bunch of other bullshit they charge up the rear for and it still looks like crap and the users want Tapatalk instead. It goes down an hour my cell is txt hell.. People got used to it, but the sites should all be able to provide a unique experience on their own.

Everything I suggested found it's way in, awesome!

Haha, you're right! I guess that means your suggestions were very good
Edit: Still thinking of changing the "envelope" to fa-comment-o with a # inside of it.
I like that idea
