@julian Of course. Years of php/mysql based forum experience and I don't want to log on to them now. I rather type by myself on a test forum seeding content because it flows that well.
@trevor I didn't care that it was not PHP/MySQL based but that intrigued me. I rather not horse around in the back end, that's one of the things I absolutely hate running vb communities, the constant bullshit.
Now that I've got the forum up other than working on the skin there is little to do other than why you log onto a community.. POST. 19 topics / 26 posts today on my test site today and I'm the only one there for now while I clean it up and get it a little more stylized.
I think that's what caught my attention so quickly. I didn't need to start another project. But once I saw the platform I wanted to.

I understand what you guys are saying about XF but it is a great improvement on vb which I have a license that I can not sell
and I agree "Especially when the interface is begging to be typed on".It's an improvement over vb but at this point that's not saying much. XF for all of it's newness still is basically a 10 year old forum running on the same concept of vb, phpbb, mybb, whatever forum of that genre.
Now you have NodeBB and Discourse as the two front runners for a new style of delivering a community experience. Exciting to see the game get stepped up. I think the average vb/xf site has dozens and dozens of plugins installed by the time it's all done, features that never get used, etc.
Why do so many people use Tapatalk on their vb/xf forums? Cause they both suck mobile. I've spent today on and off testing NodeBB with every device in the house (even the wife's Nook) and the user experience is lightning fast and you don't have to give up the look and feel.. It's much more akin to a bootstrap enabled WP site for keeping site continuity.
Didn't mean to go on a rant here.. I know we're all on this forum cause we like what's going on here.. This is my last post of the night it's 2:43am and the neighbors asshole kid is pretending he is in the next Fast and Furious movie so I have to go outside and tell him to shut the fuck up so I can get some sleep

I don't think they do refunds after a certain amount of time has expired.

Oh, we're back on this late night thread?
if it's late at night, why not!
Gonna play realm of the mad god first for 15-20 min then some theme work... First the Bigfoot silva fight on fox sports 1.. Slacking it was a long day with a sick toddler in the house.

BOOOM another night and here I am..
Liquid Web support has a working start/stop script for integration into their servers for reboots, breakages, etc.. They amaze me every day with their quality and desire to help. I've been collecting all of the emails and info so in the end it hopefully gives a clear picture of what you need to do for this on a CentOS system.
Tonight I'm going to start screwing around with layout and some visuals.. probably end up with where i'm at by the end of the night and make no progress.. it's a finicky thing getting what you want visually.. at least for me.

You might have to wait a while I was assaulted by kids on Halloween and I have to make repairs to the head and that won't be for at least a few weeks. If only there were 2x the hours in a day!!
