Where is users map?
-
Did it dissapeared?
Also what about users reading topic funcionality. Missing too?Are they planned to come back?
-
We don't have it either. That's too bad, that was a neat feature.

There was some talk last month about the style of the page. Think the plan was to revamp it?

The users map page ended up being abandoned after it made it into core. I believe @baris removed it in favour of it eventually being a plugin if so desired.
The list of users browsing the topic, I liked as well, but quickly overwhelmed servers at high load because of the sheer number of real time back/forths users would be doing. We wanted to make the cold load (that is, accessing a nodebb route by url/refresh, instead of via ajaxify) as lean as possible, and this was one of the features removed for now.

The map certainly seems like a "plugin feature" to me, so I'm happy with that. But I'd like to have the plugin as it seemed like a pretty cool feature. Although honestly other than the admins, I'm not sure that anyone in our community was even aware that it was there. So not sure if there was the slightest impact. No one has mentioned it yet.

Yeah its a nice feature to have when you have a small community because you only ever see a few users in the browsing user list.
However once you have a forum where a topic has >500 users it becomes useless and just a unnecessary strain on server resources like julian said.
We will probably bring it back as a plugin.

i see, thank you for the info
if you planning to remove functionality in favor of big communities maybe this could work too https://community.nodebb.org/topic/6920/about-topic-follow-notification-spam/
