    If a user links a post using the topic id number with a hashtag such as #420, it should link that topic or for a specific post #420/5 for the 5th post within that topic.
    Perhaps for a bonus, it can have a little snippet of the post, the topic user who posted, their avatar, and time ago information on it.

    Just a note, we ended up changing the github-embed syntax from "#1234" to "gh#1234" because people kept making ordered lists with the pound sign:

    #1 yadda yadda

    #2 something else

    And then the embed plugin would pick that up. Just a thought.

    £? 😆 Do you guys really call it a pound sign? Before twitter it was known as the hash key in the UK.

    On topic: I don't know the ID of any of my topics, so I don't know how often it would be used, by the time I've found out the topic ID, I may as well just link to the topic.

    Having a "copy link" button could solve the issue of having to remember forum ID's when it comes to linking threads. I like the idea though, would be quite useful.

    @Tanner there's one in the favourites dropdown.

    I think the only way this could be achieved usefully is to autocomplete based on the title of the topic. Which would then give you the ID.

    Before we can do this, we have to actually implement topic title searching properly 😄

    @julian We'll wait here. 😆

    Yeah, something like that would be sweet, but as you've said, I can see it being blocked by the current state of searching topics etc. Pipe dreams. 👍
