Gif as Profile Images

Im trying much now, i dont get it why i can easy upload .gif files as category images, and those actualy work,
but profile avatars will get converted to PNG ,no matter what.
And yes. i tried already all the plugins that were suggested. no one worked-

@Crushed-Ice @arranka Because you simple cannot use .gif images for your avatar:

Even if Convert profile image uploads to PNG is disable, only .png .jpg and .bmp files are allowed for avatars

@arranka Well, I never heard about this plugin. May be outdated as it has not been updated since September...
But according to the plugin's author, you just have to install it and enable it, and it's done. Then try again to upload an .gif for your avatar and tell us if you got it.

We don't have that plugin but gifs have worked for us. Not sure how.
