Change Composer to Redactor
-
The composer is OK, but it's not great and it's at the core of what people do on here. Especially people running non-technical forums. I'd like to suggest nodebb invest in the Redactor editor instead. It's demo is quite spectacular:

everyone loves a trier!
I've never seen it before, it's rather nifty.

@psychobunny It exists but it is a bit buggy, lacking any decent instructions for new users, doesn't work past 0.5. There's a fork for 0.6 but it's still very much a fringe plugin.
Are there any plugin devs on here you'd recommend? I have some spare USD resource in my freelancer.com account I'd happily spend on a dev to bring it up to standard for me.

don't even try, it doesn't work, we payed for redactor license but is near impossible to parse all markdown code to get redactor working

Emailed the NodeBB Team directly to discuss getting Redactor into the app's core. Would make the forum's content so much more flexible, especially for non-tech people (Marketing departments etc) who want to make feature-rich content as the initial post on a thread.

haha don't get your hopes up yet, we still need to see if it's feasible or not. Fortunately @Drew-Llewellyn has a 30 day guarantee so if we can't figure it out no harm done.
That said, I really love it so it'll be great to have it implemented here
