auto scroll to first unread posts

Would be nice to auto scroll to first unread post in a thread. Would be significantly nicer than scrolling through a bunch of auto-loads

Or maybe toggle ascending/descending order? Waiting for replies to load can be painful after about 40 responses.

Yep, I think the best way to handle this would be to show recent posts firsts, which I think will not be that difficult to implement.

Did this ever get beyond the exploratory phase? It's definitely something that my users want as our previous forum software had this option.

@Punkbob Yes, we have the bookmarking feature now. When you re-visit a thread you have been to before, an alert appears allowing you to, on click, scroll immediately to the last read post.

Right, is that ok to invoke that from outside the thread? And is the bookmark still stored locally or is it stored in the db now? I see some discussion on github from last year about storing data so that it woks across devices, but no confirmation that is how it is implemented now.

The bookmark is stored on the client-side only, so there's no cross-device functionality present right now.
