Unique Views

I have noticed that I can repeatedly visit a Topic and have it increment its total views. Is it possible to only increment the topic views when each view is unique? Perhaps an option in the ACP which will allow different levels of "strictness" for view increments. For example Increment on every visit or unique visits based on socket connection and time frames? Just an idea. What do you guys think?

Well, a view is a view, when you're connected to the socket and you "view" a topic, you've viewed the topic, period. I don't think there's any difference between a regular view and a unique view for the use of a general forum.
Now don't quote me on this, I think it's a good idea, but I don't think it'll be implemented anytime soon and I'm not speaking on behalf of the developers. This is generally an opinionated logistic outlook of the situation.

yup, I think we had a discussion about this some time ago. if you want info about unique users grab the Google Analytics Plugin. FYI most other forum software treat their view counts the same way.
that said, totally open to a plugin that counts unique users
