I was in the same spot last night.. Have you installed Redis yet? That fixed it for me.

Make sure imagemagick is installed too.

by default, redis is defaults to port 6379, ip 127.0.0.1, and no password (leave blank)

And i want to use the url without port

How i connect to the ftp server to reemplace the Language files, i translate it to spanish.

to restart (assuming you followed the guide)

press Ctrl-C to exit and then

./nodebb

to start again.

btw, check out the wiki under forever to learn how to keep your NodeBB running permanently

if you're using forever you can restart by the following command:

forever restart 0

SFTP should work with your login credentials (sftp, port 22), try filezilla perhaps?

For the drag and drop to work you need to create an imgur application and add the imgur client ID in the admin/settings page. https://github.com/designcreateplay/NodeBB/wiki/Enabling-imgur-image-uploads

I think I might do a wiki for installing for new none tech guys, you have a great guide but it misses a few things that if you are new to nodebb & setting up servers using ubuntu it is easy to miss or just not realize you need to do.

Thanks @StuartH, that'd be very helpful. We're all developers, so sometimes we gloss over parts that are straightforward to us!
