It is actually planned: https://github.com/NodeBB/NodeBB/issues/5736 Two of the permissions that are supposed to be split are Global account info access and Global user sessions access. Unfortunately, there seems to be no ETA, and the issue is from 2017, so it might take some time before it's added... But there is hope

I never got around to doing anything with it. We have a few gaming sites and I wanted to have one userbase between them all.

I've been playing around with a new template and when view posts on a topic, I've managed to get it to colour the user's name with the same colour as the selected group as per their profile. Do you know how I can do this with the lastpost.tpl on category view? I've tried to do it the same way as I do with the post view, however when I look for the selectedGroup/selectedGroups array, I can't find it. Thanks in advance.

It's not possible to do exactly what you say, but it is possible to accomplish a similar thing by creating a NodeBB plugin which implements the API endpoint you want, instead of using the built-in API.

Not at the moment without a custom plugin.

Still no luck, I've submitted a issue on the bug tracker.

To get the root parent you would have to write a plugin and traverse up until you hit parentCid=0, this isn't available in core. To detect page changes listen to the action:ajaxify.end client side event.

Thanks @baris I managed to fix it by disabling the plugin, which let me then edit the post and I've also replaced the plugin with one that's actually maintained. Thanks again for the help in locating this error.

Unfortunately that is not possible at this time, as the admin panel as a whole is either allowed or denied. Administrators have full access to the site and so they are hardcoded to be allowed in. Changing the code to break up the ACP into different sections that can be managed via privileges is a major overhaul

Hello, just wondered if you could quickly point me in the right direction. I'm using the autoassigncategory plugin, however I would like it to auto remove the find/read permissions for newly created categories for guests and registered-public, do you know how I could do this or point me to the correct documentation?
