When you refresh the page, if the avatar is not loaded to the end - to restart forum.

I doubt this is a bug, it would report a internal server error if that occurred. Its mostly been regular maintenance.

Hmmm I see that you're trying to use a GIF. I doubt that this is connected but can you try a jpg or a png?

I found this bug on my site.
Then checked it here.I gave you the error log from the my site where my avatar - gif.
Here jpg.I am sure that the problem is that the download is interrupted sharply.
+lost categories in the main. You too?

Seems like a error on NodeBB's side, nothing I can do about it to resolve the issue.
