I'd prefer if the red bubble keeping track of unread posts were actually over the bell icon keeping track of notifications. Notifications are the things I want to stay on top of. It's find if I miss some new comment in a thread I'm not following, but I want to see clearly when someone has responded to me or mentioned me. Just a thought.

I think we were going to implement that bubble for the notification icon as well but forgot about it (don't know why we didn't end up implementing it)
