We do, actually. Forum admins can "pin" topics to the top of a topic listing.

Individual members do not have this ability. You can access it in the "Thread Tools" dropdown menu at the bottom of each topic.

Are there a plugin for these, or stock with NodeBB?

How does one make it so that a moderator must approve a topic in order for the topic to become publicly view able?

How can I set it up so that all new members posts must be approved before they are displayed? I figure that this will deter the spammers.

Nope. It loads jumps around and I end up at the top post. But it is intermittent. Sometimes it works.

I'll try clearing the bookmark (is it stored locally?) to see if it helps.

haha I think, just put all your comments in one place and we can try implementing them for the next theme. I really have a ridiculous habit of creating stuff and then dropping them later (ADHD when it comes to themes and plugins), so yeah. If you want, submit a PR for lavender 😛
