nodebb-plugin-header-extend

Latest version: 0.1.3

I made a new plugin. It adds links to the site menu. These links can be within the site or external.

Usage of this plugin is simple. Just click icons or drag stuff.

Installation

Two options:

Install the plugin through the ACP (if it ever gets added to the list cough cough)
Run npm install nodebb-plugin-header-extend in the root directory of the NodeBB install
Don't forget to restart after installing and activating the plugin. After installing, an entry should appear in the menu in the ACP.

Fair play to you for this one, I'm using it on http://35hz.co.uk as an easy link to a specific group of tags.

Also @julian, filtering multiple tags. Why no possible yet?

Is that the iconSelect module you're using? gh#2588 is going to move that out to become a general r.js module...

Not sure if you're doing require(['admin/modules/iconSelect']), but it's just iconSelect now... once gh#2588 gets merged.

Perfect plugin that will allow me to remove my existing hard coded links
In the future it would be nice if you could manage the whole menu (needs to be core imo).

@Scuzz really? I'm testing it on two 0.5.x installs. Are there any errors in the log (or in the console with ./nodebb dev)?

Yes, I skipped 0.0.2 (because I tested it after publishing accidentally, and it was faulty)

Changes:

• Removed JS hack to remove tooltip, replaced w/ CSS
• Menu width now fits the child link width (so no weird wrapping)

• Simplified CSS and removed another JS hack
• Also fixed a small issue where the width wasn't actually wide enough.

I nave a suggestion.

When adding text next to the icon it shows up in the navbar and also in the navbar when on a mobile.
When you remove it and just have the icon, only the icon is shown on the navbar and it is also only the icon on the mobile navbar.

Is it possible to have the icon only on the normal navbar and then the icon and text on mobile navbar, currently how the defaults are set up?

@Scuzz If you check Show only the icon in desktop menu, it shows only the icon in the normal navbar, but the icon and the title in the mobile menu.

Does it not do the same on your site? Are you on version 0.0.4?

Changes:

• Menus now only activate on click (to keep consistent with bootstrap)
• Menus now open with awesome animation
• Menus work correctly on mobile

@pitaj That's what that does. It kinda makes sense now. When i first looked i did not understand what it was for. Thanks for the explanation!
