are we explaining what each individual hook is for,
It would be nice if each individual hook was more explained. A lot of try and fail now + google 😛
Hey people,
Quick question here. If I were to create a forum using nodebb does it have to be on a VPS, or can it be on a web host? Basically I would like to know if I have to go buy a VPS or can I just set this up on my 1&1 WEB HOSTING service. Sorta like how you may set up a forum software such as mybb.
Thanks for reading and if you know the answer please let me know.
As far as i know you need to use some sort of VPS or NodeBB official hosting.
More info here: https://docs.nodebb.org/en/latest/
If you need help setting up i dont mind helping you
Nodebb won't work on shared hosting, you need a vps or a dedicated server, the vps however is quite cheap.
As others have mentioned, due to the nature of NodeBB (running on Node.js/Redis), a VPS is required for now.
I would use AWS. Free VPS for a year. Small box if you're starting small then it's enough to host some nodebb instances
