NodeBB Plugin & Theme Contest Bonanza 2014
JLChnToZ Anime Lovers
Alright, let me have the try.
First entry: https://community.nodebb.org/topic/2533/nodebb-plugin-niconico-niconico-plugin
Is the plugin category the best place to see the list of existing plugins? It is a bit hard to find what is already implemented and what plugins are in demand.
Are there any other place I should look at to get a good sense of the current plugin scene?
I am very excited. Will start hacking on my first plugin this weekend

@arasbm For published plugins the npmjs.org search would be best.
But most published plugins also have a topic within the plugin category.
If you're interested in what's on demand you most likely find it in the plugin category if the author wants you to know
There's also this which is the API powering the plugin list in the ACP. It still has a lot of work to go, we put it on the back burner atm to focus on more important things. Eventually it will be located at
http://plugins.nodebb.organd will be linked to this community for comments ala blog comment plugin.
I just wanted to add that if you win the premium hosting packages, we will be more than happy to export data back to you to host on your own server after the year is up. Just let us know
@psychobunny I've updated Chinese version. https://nodebb.org.cn/topic/60/

Hmm hopefully I can get a decent plugin together by the end of the month. Some NBB gear would be neat to have. Shame I already released a "plugin" (to call it that is being generous), I'd prefer the odds of being in the newbie category
How can we participate ?
Lets try mine own plugin 0.0.1 release: https://github.com/svandecappelle/nodebb-plugin-charts

@svandecappelle, I think plugins only qualify if they are released for the first time this month.
So, other than myself, is anyone working on a last-minute submission?
Schamper Plugin & Theme Dev
Going to drop my submissions here, makes it easier for you guys I guess.
nodebb-plugin-botler (kind of submission I suppose ;))

@Ted The first release was created on Oct 19, 2014
Tanner Plugin & Theme Dev
My submission is the Tron theme, which is semi-quasi-almost-pretty-much-finished as it stands now.
Here is the shortlist (actually, it's the complete list, but I just wanted to say "shortlist".) of entries for the Plugin & Theme Bonanza!
- @JLChnToZ, nodebb-plugin-Niconico
- @arasbm, nodebb-plugin-whoisin
- @pitaj, nodebb-plugin-Calendar
- @mani, nodebb-plugin-Github Card
- @Almost, nodebb-plugin-Image Resizing
- @JLChnToZ, nodebb-plugin-BiliBili
- @tedr56, nodebb-plugin-Ted Talks
- @a_5mith, nodebb-plugin-Codepen Embedding
Please let somebody know if you have a plugin or theme that we missed.
Polling begins shortly! (~24 hours)
Edit: Considering adding @Almost from BitBangers for http://bitbangers.co.uk/topic/132/nodebb-plugin-anchors
nodebb-plugin-Charts (@svandecappelle) had a number of upgrades made to it the month of October, but it was technically started in May True to his word, the plugin was not released until October 19th, so it gets a bit grey there
nodebb-plugin-Teamspeak (@pitaj) was removed as it was started in late September, but was included initially as @pitaj is considered a new dev. We'll let the public decide (same with the teamspeak-widget plugin)
nodebb-plugin-codepen (@a_5mith) is still included as the npm registry lists its publish date as:
"0.1.0": "2014-10-02T18:49:29.226Z, so again, grey, like the charts plugin
