Just taking my daily look at http://hackerne.ws and saw that NodeBB is right at the very top!
Might be worth you guys taking a look at some of the C&C there.
Was this a sneaky publicity stunt? 
Skimmed through the comments, and I got this vibe that most of the commenters just glanced through this NodeBB forum without actually registering and trying to say "hi", let alone installing and trying it on their own box. I might come back later to offer my points (because I am in the college's lab now doing Western Blot on GFP protein )
Yeah, many of the points were to do with the theme of this forum. They didnt really comment on anything else. I mentioned my forum and covoes had a different theme but no one seemed to comment on that, other that someone saying it was faster than here.
I'm not a fan of the theme here but the possibilities of different ones are very high.
I think maybe having a couple of themes on display on the github page may have changed their minds.

He's trolling me - first commit of NodeBB had a "most online users ever" thing in the footer. Counts all your bots too.
I replied here. I hope I don't get flamed, really, I wish we had a few more weeks to get out 0.5x ish and the new theme out before people started giving us their opinion. But I guess it doesn't hurt 
Oh, so thats where the influx of traffic is coming from.
