Personally, no. Animated GIFs seem like a 2000's throwback in my view. I used forums back in the day that had so many animated GIFs as avatars that it was enough to trigger an epileptic fit.

One can argue that GIFs are more relevant nowadays, with the popularity of tenor gif and other such integration into mobile keyboard, etc.
After all, a picture (even a moving one!) is worth a thousand words?

A moving picture, gee... could be infinite, ya got that time curve going on there, but yea, I think some forums will be very happy with native support - all hail teh gif master!
Well kids, just remember though, a post on a forum is worth at it's weight in naysayers, shills and bots, flame wars and requisite bans.
