@julian That seems most logical keybinding to me. Else maybe Shift-Enter if Ctrl-Enter conflicts with some DE or other.

Aye, and therein lies the rub: With so many different WM's and DE's these days might be a challenge to find a binding not already in use somewhere. On related note, best also check major browser vendor keybindings.

That said, I am not aware of anything that would conflict with Ctrl-Enter.

@gotwf @julian ctrl enter would work but then what about mobile? They enter button on mobile should be send and you can new line with the 123 button and enter maybe

@dunlix I think that departs too much from expected UX... Mobile you'd just have to use your thumb to hit the submit button, as usual (oh the horror)

@julian yes like on discord if you press the enter button on mobile it sends but if you go to the symbols section it lets you create a new line.

Similarly in discord on pc if you press enter it sends the message, and if you press SHIFT + Enter it makes a new line
