Ah, yes, that is potentially a stumbling block... port property is optional, if not specified, NodeBB will listen on port 4567. However the url property is the one that is referenced by NodeBB, and is used as the canonical reference to itself... so when somebody asks your forum what it is to be called, NodeBB will respond back with the value in url, so the port is required if you are accessing your forum with port number in url.
Unsolved Invalid Category ID - Cannot create category or Post

I deployed NodeBB a few years back, took a break from non-social media, and have now come back, on the cusp of my deleting Facebook. Note that I am a senior web dev (php / MySQL) of 20+ years, so I am not a beginner web user. However, Node.js and Mongo are not my forte.
We've installed the latest version of NodeBB on forum.monsoon.city on an Ubuntu VPS. I no longer handle development - this was handled by a friend system admin, who doesn't support NodeBB.
For the most part, everything is working, but I've run into a few major issues that I can't seem to find. There is a problem with Categories and perhaps the db table.
I cannot create a new Category. It is staying maxxed at 4. See screenshot - I create the category, press Submit - but nothing ever happens. It doesn't create categories anywhere
I cannot create a post in an Category. When I submit the post, I receive the error: "Invalid Category ID" - see screenshot
thoughts / suggestions?
It sounds like your database is corrupted. I recommend reinstalling nodebb from scratch.
