    • RE: [nodebb-plugin-blog-comments] Blog Commenting Engine (Ghost, Wordpress widget)

I'm trying to get this installed now on my Wordpress for https://digitalnomad.blog ... the JSON API recommended originally years ago, hasn't been updated in 3+ years. No comments in the support there, and says it may not be compatible with recent / coming Wordpress installations.

Will this nodebb plugin work with other WP JSON API plugins, such as JSON Content Importer - https://wordpress.org/plugins/json-content-importer/

    • RE: Google SSO error - This site can’t be reached

OK... removing the port, :4567 - helped with the Google SSO to finally work.

      just "https://digital.nomadic.cloud" - and it's working fine.

I know that during the set up process (tried 5 times previously), ensuring the port here made a difference with making something else work.

When I see that bug again, I will post that separately.

      and.. thank you 🙂

      Thanks for the reply!

      Forum URL is: https://digital.nomadic.cloud/

config.json url setting is: "url": "https://digital.nomadic.cloud:4567",

and obviously the signup/login icon/link as per nodebb normal

    • Google SSO error - This site can’t be reached

Several attempts at installing Google SSO. Had domain validated, updated all the info, made slight modifications to the json config- eg using https://

In the browser, it fails before login. Even though I now get through to the list of Google accounts, after I select my main email address, the response is a failure, as attached.

      This site can’t be reached
      digital.nomadic.cloud unexpectedly closed the connection.
      Try:

      Checking the connection
Checking the proxy and the firewall

The domain is otherwise fully accessible.0_1538380032087_Screen Shot 2018-10-01 at 9.44.39 am.png

All the settings look fine. I've added the domain with and without the port number on the Google end.

      Any ideas?

      Thank you...

    • Google Analytics, after activation and set up, is not displaying in HTML

      Greetings,

Second attempt at installing NodeBB, and many more frustrations continue. Takes forever to activate plugins, and they frequently do not work properly.

I am a senior web dev of 18+ years (PHP/MySQL) so I am not a newbie, but this is absolutely maddening.

Latest one - Google Analytics. I have installed the plugin, activated, added our tracking code. Restarted and rebooted NodeBB several times. Yet, the tracking code never appears anywhere in our HTML for the forum.

What is missing or lacking, and what needs to be done? I've had to add the code manually for now to gain approval for the far more complicated Google SSO, but the point of a plugin is to insert this instantly, no?

Thanks for the help in advance.

    • NodeBB forum pages hang on all browsers

      Hi guys,

I had my first full day of playing with NodeBB settings, plugins and themes today. Was going smoothly until I activated a bunch of plugins - SSO, events, etc.

Now, on my two test accounts (mac osx Firefox & Chrome) as an admin and normal user, the forum pages don't fully load.

The progress bar at the top gets to around 80-90%, and then stops. Underneath, it is still clickable, though replies don't post.

What's up? I could not find this issue anywhere else.

The only errors in the log are:

      404 Not Found
      Route Count
      /libs/js 2
      /libs/js/iframe.js 1
      /admin/libs/js

      Is this is?

And if so, where did they magically disappear to?

Finally.... is it better practice to reboot NodeBB after each single plugin is installed / activated? Rather than installing 5-10 and rebooting all at once?

      thanks for the help
