Notification email does not display correctly

Hi,
I've created a "small" private forum currently running nodebb v1.12.2. I've setup email notifications with mailgun, and created custom email templates from the admin dashboard. So far everything works correctly.

However I have a problem with email mention notifications regarding posts.

In the sent email notifications, the post content is not displayed as html (but rather the unparsed post content), which means that the images are not displayed at all, and other things such as paragraphs, bold and more are not displayed correctly. See below example of images not shown.

I've found below listed related issue on github, but it hasn't helped me solve my problem.

What version of NodeBB are you on?
