I have set up an app specific password and I have also used TLS as in the picture above. I will try encrypted again but I think I already did.

Can you just tell me the easiest provider to use and how to setup...i do not need sendgrid as the forum is small...

Am i right in thinking it could be a port set up??

So probably the mail library doesn't support the tls version the server is using. But just a guess.

It could be something to do with iCloud. Have you had success with any other email?

Shouldn't be ports. Where is it hosted, on a VPS? If so the ports shouldn't be a problem.

I use my own self hosted email without issue, starttls etc.

Yeah on a server at home with me..

I run some gaming servers on it and the forum etc.

It was working ok. Now it is not. So I dont have a clue. I will try and go back and use mail.com again and see. But i dont think it will work.

I published 6 days ago an update to fix an issue on the client side with the latest version of NodeBB.
But your problem seem different, like PitaJ said it look like the issue come from the sendMail fonction of NodeBB.
