Signing On issue

Is it possible to combine the signing in of the wordpress login to the NodeBB forum?

Currently the user has to

1. Log in to wordpress
2. Select Forum on the menu/header
3. then log in or register to the NodebB forum.

Wondering if theres a way I can combine logging in to wordpress, so that the user will automatically be logged into the forum..

or even better if it can log them in and redirect
