Since I shared a few days ago that I have not been active here as I dealt with the imminent death of my brother, I thought I'd share now – at the risk of too much sharing – that my brother died this morning.

Thank you for sharing your moving reflection on your brother Philip's life and what he meant to you. As you say, "Life is a precious gift, and we must live it while it is given to us." May you gain strength from your knowledge of the love that connected you with your brother, including all the difficulties that come with every relation.
