One time, I was asked to be in a magazine photoshoot.

i think the conclusion from my 'i probably have gender dysphoria' conversation that happened only in my brain is, i'm not masc, i'm not femme, i really just feel like a blob
non-binary, punk blobbbbbbbbbb
the only fashion symbol i can think of that resonates with me is probably kim gordon from sonic youth from age 20 to now
girly girl fashion is horrible for me

@skinnylatte If I could get away with wearing jeans and flannel shirts every day, I totally would.

@skinnylatte the way Iβve described my experience to people is that while Iβve never felt like Iβm anything other than female it feels like most of the feminine software didnβt install right
-
@joannaholman I really like that
-
@skinnylatte Girl why are you in my head?
I feel exactly the same about my clothes and fashion. The most femme I feel whenever I wear dresses. Most of them are flowy and shapeless.

@farah hey I found this and it helped me visualize what I should try. Was never able to before I saw these diagrams

@skinnylatte I suspect you did it for the same reason I and so many other autistic people would have. Masking to avoid conflict, or to avoid being judged, or seen as different.
-
@m yes and there is a lot of performative gender in my case. I donβt care anymore but at the time I could not opt out

@skinnylatte this thread is so relatable
Both on the autistic comfort thing, and just not really strongly relating to overtly masc or femme fashion
It's been a weird journey to start to both understand what I think looks good and what I think makes me happy with fashion. My experience when I was younger made me think people didn't enjoy fashion and just did it for other people ... and yet I'd occasionally see someone who seemed to be really enjoying it

@skinnylatte @farah I am this shape and I never knew I needed this...

@skinnylatte I've always thought I was "barrel" shaped - this is why I like wearing my motorcycle gear (with all the armour) I have an androgenous "cyberpunk" body image. @farah

Have I found my people? Rectangle/blob sounds about right -
