Link to open JS box

Hello. I know that through JS you can execute a command to open up a dialogue box of some sort (like the one when you click COMPOSE (?) on top right of composer) but I was wondering how I can do this by clicking a link in a post

Like clicking this just opens a message but stays in the same post.

@dunlix From within a post? Probably not possible... but a plugin could do it.

You just want to call bootbox.prompt(). http://bootboxjs.com/

If you want you can open a modal when a link is clicked in a post content. Try this in custom JS tab.

$('.topic').on('click', '[component="post/content"] a', function () {
    bootbox.alert('ok');
});

Not sure why you want to do that though

@baris well I want to for specific links not all links . Like if you typed (for example)

^[hello]

Then it would open a boot box saying that.

@pitaj I actually have that, but I want to be able to customize the button then .
Basically I’m making a thank you page for people associated with my site. It shows there name and links for their social medias. I used custom emojis so that when you click on the icon it goes to their page.

For Discord and Battle.net however, there are no websites or pages per profile, only a username with a user tag.

What I was is to be able to click on them as links like the others but it actually stays in the page and just opens a dialogue with the user tag so I don’t have to have the user tag displayed there with them (not as neat nor cool).
